FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell, comprising carbon carrier (11) with pores (13) and catalyst particles containing platinum or platinum alloy and deposited on carbon carrier (11). Pores (13) of carbon carrier (11) have the most probable size in range from 2.1 nm to 5.1 nm. Total volume of pores (13) in carbon carrier (11) ranges from 21 to 35 cm3/g. Distance between the catalyst particles and the surface of carbon substrate (11) ranges from 2.0 to 12 nm and represents a distance corresponding to 50 % of the total frequency expressed by the histogram.
EFFECT: improved characteristics of electrode catalyst for fuel cell due to increased resistance to gas diffusion and prevention of damage of catalytic metal, in which catalyst particles are deposited on carrier with high application density, is technical result of invention.
