FIELD: nanotechnologies.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of composite nanomaterials. Disclosed is a method of producing material containing silicium shells on surface of inorganic nanoparticles. Method involves chemical deposition of silicon dioxide from a sodium metasilicate solution containing inorganic nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are dispersed in water by ultrasound, is added to a suspension of sodium metasilicate aqueous solution with concentration of 0.001–0.1 mol/l, solution of hydrochloric acid is added while stirring with concentration and volume of hydrochloric acid solution equivalent to concentration and volume of solution of sodium metasilicate. It is held at stirring during 8 hours, centrifuged, washed and dried.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain silicon dioxide shells on the surface of inorganic nanoparticles by chemical deposition from a solution, wherein thickness of the silicon dioxide layer can be controlled from several units to hundreds of nanometers.
