FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing solid thermosetting foam material, comprising the following successive steps: (a) providing a foamed and thermosetting composition comprising sugar, an acid catalyst selected from strong acids, phosphoric acid and inorganic salts which create an acidic medium, wherein concentration of strong acids is in range of 0.1 to 1.5 n, concentration of phosphoric acid is in range of 0.1 to 0.2 mol/l and concentration of inorganic salts creating an acidic medium is such that the value pH of composition was in range from 0 to 3, wherein inorganic salts which create an acidic medium are selected from aluminium and copper sulphates and nitrates, (b) feeding the foamed and thermosetting composition into a mould or applying the foamed composition on a support in the form of a film with a thickness of at least 1 mm, (c) heating the foamed and thermosetting composition to a temperature in range of 140 and 180 °C to obtain a solid thermoset foam block.
EFFECT: disclosed are heat-cured foams and a method for production thereof.
