FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sodium titanate Na2Ti3O7, which can be used as effective anode material of lithium and sodium current sources, photocatalyst in ultraviolet and visible light range, gas-sensitive sensor for determination of air humidity, separator of chemical current source, preventing short-circuiting of electrodes and providing ion current in electrolyte. Method involves obtaining a reaction mixture containing an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and a titanium-containing compound, a hydrothermal treatment, washing with water and drying, characterized by that titanium chloride used is titanium chloride of composition TiCl3 and 3.5–15 M aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide in molar ratio of components equal to TiCl3 : NaOH = 1:(10÷40), and hydrothermal treatment is carried out at temperature 140–160 °C and excess pressure of 360–617 kPa for 24–26 hours.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplicity and manufacturability of the method, which ensures high purity of end product due to production of single-phase product, which does not contain impurity phases.
