SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vehicles. Drive device for vehicle equipped with AC-rotating electrical machine connected to driving wheel comprises power accumulation device; inverter, DC/AC power converter and inverter control device. Control device is configured to perform zero torque control to drive the inverter such that the output torque from the rotating electrical machine is zero, when the power accumulation device is prohibited to be charged, while the rotating electric machine is rotated by driving power from the driving wheel.
EFFECT: preventing overheating of inverter.
