SUBSTANCE: device includes a video camera installed above water, which is connected to series-connected processing unit and counting unit. Within the vision zone of the video camera across the river there is a band on the bottom, the color of which contrasts with the color of the detected fish and the bottom of the river. Belt comprises optical emitting elements connected to processing unit. Number of video cameras is selected so that they can be used to view the whole river width.
EFFECT: invention provides continuous counting of fish passing in shallow-water rivers.
