FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine includes cylinder body 1, crankcase 2, cylinders 3, a common rod of cylinders 4, flywheel shaft 5, flywheel 6, retainers 7, small rod 8, channels on the flywheel interconnected, made in the form of endless saw 9, teeth of channel 10, retainer seat 11, retainer spring 12. Internal combustion engine operates as follows: one of pistons 3 is in upper dead point, small rod 8 is also at dead point, under action, for example, compressed air piston 3 begins movement to lower dead point, small rod 8 starts to press on end of retainer 7 at an angle of, for example, 15 degrees, and then to wall of channel 9, flywheel 6 starts to rotate, piston 3 approaches bottom dead point, small stock 8 presses on retainer 7, recessed in seat 11, when small rod 8 was at dead point, retainer 7 under action of spring 12 comes out of seat 11, forming its end with wall of channel 9 integral, chamber 10 provides small rod 8 free movement from dead point when flywheel 6 rotates as quickly as possible.
EFFECT: invention is intended for conversion of reciprocal movement of opposite pistons into flywheel rotation.
