FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing polymer hydrophobic films and can be used to produce special coatings for preventing corrosion of metal surfaces, anti-icing coatings for elements of building structures, self-cleaning parts of vehicles, structured coatings on microsuits for separation of water and oil phases, and so forth. Method of producing a polymer film involves melting and mixing poly (4-methyl-1-pentene) and polyisobutylene in the following ratio, wt. %: (45–60):(40–55), respectively, laminating the obtained mixture between two layers of siliconized antiadhesion polyimide film with subsequent removal of layers of siliconized anti-adhesive film and providing film roughness by extraction of polyisobutylene with a volatile solvent.

EFFECT: films from poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) according to the invention have high hydrophobicity, and their manufacture involves a simple economical method.
