METHOD OF TEACHING SKILLS OF USING HAND TOOLS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G09B19/24

Abstract RU 2716810 C1

FIELD: education.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to training in the use of hand tools. It can be used for higher effectiveness of training, assessment of skills of children, trainees of different ages and groups of health. Result is achieved by training pupil using software and hardware system (SHS). System includes a computer, an audio system, video cameras and devices which form augmented reality presented to the student in the form of supplemented images of flat and three-dimensional figures of specified transparency or forbidden light zones. What is special is that the SHS contains a predetermined number of video cameras which are fixed on the pupil's head and/or at a given height over the student's workplace in a given volume of the working space. Image from the video cameras is transmitted to the SHS computer for program processing and/or to the monitor of the instructor in order to control the pupil's actions in real time. Computer is connected to video cameras and augmented reality apparatus via a radio link or through wire communication. From the library of SHS programs, the teaching teacher launches the program of the selected stage of training, which projects a virtual model on the facilities of augmented reality of the student with given transparency and optimal space-time mutual arrangement of the processed material, instrument and hands of the student. In training programs allowed allowances for space-time deviations from a given virtual model of performing a labor operation, in violation of tolerances student is given audio and/or light signals. SHS displays dangerous areas for its body parts, fixes dangerous situations in preset volume of working zone of hand instrument and, in case of safety failures, supplies warning light and/or sound signals. SHS fixes modes of operation with processed material and hand tool, if necessary comments processing of material with sound or light prompts or additional slides.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of teaching skills of using hand tools by using augmented reality tools for multi-visualization of required data and prompts in real time when performing simple and complex coordinated motor actions of trainee.
