SUBSTANCE: exhaust system comprising: a NOx retention catalyst; electric heating element; and a NOx reduction catalyst in which the heating element is placed downstream of the NOx retention catalyst. Method of exhaust gas flow processing from internal combustion engine, including: adsorption of NOx on a NOx retention catalyst at temperatures at or below a low temperature level; thermal desorption of NOx from NOx retention catalyst at temperature above low temperature; heating the downstream NOx reduction catalyst with an electric heating element; and catalytic removal of desorbed NOx on a NOx reduction catalyst.
EFFECT: disclosed is an electrical element in the exhaust gas for NOx and SCR retention catalysts.
