FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brass and can be used for production of articles operating under abrasive conditions. High-strength brass contains, wt%: 55–65 Cu; 1–2.5 Mn; 0.7–2 Sn; 0.2–1.5 Fe; 2–4 Ni; 2–5 Al; 0.2–2 Si; maximum 2.0 Co; the balance of Zn and unavoidable impurities, wherein the sum of elements Mn and Sn is at least 1.7 wt% and not more than 4.5 %.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at production of high-strength brass having high strength, reduced wear at action of friction, resistance to corrosion in acid medium and not containing lead.
