FIELD: monitoring devices.
SUBSTANCE: controller is configured to receive a first signal from a first sensor, determine a first value for the position of the first portion of the torque limiting device based on said first signal, receiving a second signal from the second sensor, determining a second value for the position of the second portion of the torque limiting device based on said second signal, determining difference between said first value for the position of said first part and said second value for the position of said second part, determining the slip value between said first part and said second part based on said difference and generating a control signal to control operation of conveyor based on said slip value.
EFFECT: said torque limiting device prevents application of excessive torque to sprocket or chain.
