FIELD: conveyor systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conveyor system that includes a sprocket, conveyor element, transducer, tensioning system and electronic processor. The conveyor element is connected to the sprocket for movement around the sprocket. The sensor is disposed adjacent to the sprocket and is configured to generate an output signal indicative of detection of the conveyor element. The electronic processor is connected to the sensor and the tensioning system. The electronic processor is configured to receive output signals from said sensor over a period of time, each signal indicating an arrow of sag of the conveyor element at an instant within said time period, performing trend analysis of the outputs received from said sensor to identify a tendency in the tension of the conveyor element, and controlling the tensioning system based on said tendency in the tension of the conveyor element to change the tension of the conveyor element.
EFFECT: adequate maintenance of tension in the required range is ensured.
