FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Disclosed is a method of determining the adequacy of monitoring electronic equipment in fault mode, consisting in that in projects of programmable logic devices (PLD), implemented in languages of description of equipment, intentionally introduce models of faults. Testing is then carried out in order to assess the probability of detecting introduced models of faults with the tested equipment or software. Test runs are repeated many times, with various combinations of activated faults, wherein test object (TO) operates in different states determined by requirements of end consumer. Tests are terminated when the ratio of the number of test runs to the number of detected faults TO becomes higher than the specified coefficient or no faults TO are detected for a given period of time.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of test time at acceptable level of control of test objects.
