FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dermatovenerology and pathological anatomy, and can be used for semiquantitative evaluation of GLUT-1 protein by immunohistochemical method in patient's biopsy material. That is ensured by a complex assessment of four factors: color intensity, localization, prevalence and a variant of staining of cell structures, wherein the expression index GLUT-1 is calculated by the following formula: GLUT-1 = CI + LE + PC + BC expression index, where CI is the color intensity; LE - localization of GLUT-1 protein expression in layers of epidermis; PC - prevalence of epidermal layers colouring; BC is a version of cell structures colouring. Value of GLUT-1 expression index from 0 to 6 points indicates low intensity of glucose metabolism, which is typical for normal epidermis, and value of GLUT-1 expression index from 7 to 12 points reflects increased activity of glucose metabolism and is characteristic for psoriasis.

EFFECT: invention enables using it as an additional criterion for determining severity of the pathological process in the skin, as well as enables evaluating the effectiveness of the therapy in psoriasis.
