FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to infectious diseases and gastroenterology, and can be used for assessing the rate of developing fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis C. Method includes determining hemoglobin, METAVIR scale fibrosis, globulin, CD8 abs – the number of CD8-positive cells in 1 mm2 of liver tissue cut, SMA abs – number of SMA-alfa-positive cells in 1 mm2 of liver tissue cut, presence of accompanying diseases, creatinine. Then linear discriminant functions are calculated according to the claimed formulas (LDF1 and LDF2). If LDF1 is the absolute value, then the patient being examined should be assigned to a group with slow development of fibrosis – less than 0.5 points per year by METAVIR. If the LDF2 value is greater, the patient is more likely to develop fibrosis – 0.5 and more points per year by METAVIR.

EFFECT: method enables detecting the rate of fibrosis development in the patients with chronic viral hepatitis C ensured by evaluating the most informative clinical-laboratory, morphological and immunohistochemical signs.
