METHOD FOR PREVENTING INFECTIOUS COMPLICATIONS BASED ON AIR PLASMA AND EXOGENOUS NITROGEN OXIDE IN CARDIOVASCULAR INTERVENTIONS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B18/02

Abstract RU 2718324 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery. To treat the wound, a temperature effect of air cold plasma and exposure to exogenous nitrogen oxide are used. At the end of the main stage of the operation, Plazone apparatus air-plasma flows are applied to the tissue of an incised sternum in a coagulation mode with exposure of 1 minute to each of the edges of the surgical wound. After suturing and cutting off the sternum edges, air-plasma flows are applied on a soft-tissue wound along its entire surface in stimulant mode with exposures of 2 minutes on each of the edges. Postoperative exposure is performed on wound seams with air-plasma flows in stimulator mode with exposure of 1 minute along sutures on both sides, with total exposure of 2 minutes, once a day, for 3 days. Then, before suturing, suture line is treated in stimulator mode with exposure of 3 minutes.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the number of infectious and wound complications in the postoperative period, without using aseptic solutions and additional antibiotic therapy, increasing the efficiency of surgical interventions in cardiovascular surgery, as well as reducing the length of treatment.
