FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery, and can be used for osteosynthesis of the sternum with pronounced osteoporotic changes. Parasternal atraumatic nylon monofilaments are carried out and six eight-shaped sutures are formed, each of which covers both halves of the sternum through two adjacent intercostal spaces above and below the corresponding sternocostal joints. The sternum is compared along the sternotomy line and the ends of the monofilaments are tied with two sliding and six surgical knots. Ligaments from the fixing knots are passed under the loops of the eight-shaped stitches.

EFFECT: method provides strong fixation of both halves of the osteoporotic sternum without the risk of suture eruption and a decrease in the incidence of postoperative wound complications due to the creation of transverse and longitudinal stabilization of the sternum, reduction and more even distribution of force loads on the bone, and also prevents the formation of ligature fistulas by placing a ligament with fixing nodes under the loop of the eight-shaped suture laterally from the sternum.
