FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery, and can be used for prevention of non-infectious complications of sternum in cardiac surgeries. Preparation of "bioOST" cement mortar involves dilution of "bioOST" granules in sterile conditions with patient's blood at ratio of 1:1.5 to material volume with exposure of 30 minutes. First use is performed at the standard stage of hemostasis of the sternum: after sternotomy, the bone-cutting substance is mashed with "bioOST" cement mortar without using medical wax. Sternal sutures are covered with a gauze pad before tightening the pericardium and the retractor assembly. Second use is performed immediately before the primary metal osteosynthesis: after removal of the retractor, the cavities of the sternum are filled with the remains of the "bioOST" cement mortar.

EFFECT: method provides haemostasis of the spongy substance of the sternum and acceleration of repair by using a cement mortar prepared from "bioOST" granules and patient's blood directly during the surgical intervention.
