FIELD: technical diagnostics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technical diagnostics and can be used for determination of technical condition of voltage regulator. Method of diagnosing voltage regulators consists in the fact that an input voltage of a voltage regulator is fed with increasing voltage and controlling values of current and supply voltage. When the input voltage of the control value reaches a certain type of voltage regulator, the current value is determined, which in the serviceable voltage regulator will correspond to almost zero value. In case of failure of this condition, conclusion is made on failure of voltage regulator. Further, the type of failure is determined, for this purpose voltage is applied to the voltage regulator input, the amplitude of which is slightly higher than the actuation voltage of the diagnosed regulator. Voltage pulses will alternate at the output of the voltage regulator and arrive at the input of the oscilloscope device signal amplifier, on the screen of which oscillograms will be observed depending on the state of the diagnosed voltage regulator and describing the state of the diagnosed voltage regulator.

EFFECT: high reliability and quality of monitoring voltage regulator of vehicles, enabling determination of type of fault, if voltage regulator is faulty, without disassembly, reduction of labor intensity during diagnostics works, provision of possibility to carry out diagnostic works directly on a vehicle without usage of industrial electric network.
