FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction, in particular, to devices for investigation of soil deformation characteristics in laboratory conditions. Instrument for compression tests of soil includes housing and hollow die with porous inserts, working ring, cover and displacement sensors. Lower part of the working ring is submerged at half its height into the annular slot in the housing of the device; at that, the inner diameter of this part of the working ring exceeds the diameter of the sample, and the inner diameter of its upper part is equal to the diameter of the sample.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of measurement results of modulus of deformation, coefficient of transverse deformations, coefficient of primary consolidation of soil, and in calculation of stress correction is introduced, which takes into account friction between sample and working ring.
