FIELD: soils research.
SUBSTANCE: research by laboratory methods of the deformation properties of soils. The device contains a holder for a soil sample, the main and loading dies with devices for their separate loading, and protrusions and corresponding grooves are formed in the loading and main dies for interacting with each other. The loading die has height position locks and indicators of vertical displacements of the main die and the free surface of the soil sample are located on it. The diameter of the rigid holder exceeds the diameter of the main die from 4.3 to 6.0 times; sample height is from 0.88 to 1.11 of the main die diameter; diameter of the main die is not less than 70 mm. The device additionally contains a hydraulic system for supplying and free circulation of water, which includes a water tank located outside the device, equipped with a tube for water supply and a water level sensor, a conduit in the form of a tube connecting the water tank with a water space located under the perforated liner in the device body and a second conduit in the form of a tube connecting this space in the body of the device with an opening in the upper part of the body.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and reliability of the result of a laboratory study for the rate of a soil sample secondary consolidation.
