SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electroplating and can be used for manufacturing of electric contact components, such as connectors, output frames and forks used in electrotechnical and electronic devices. Material for an electrical connector used as a starting material for an electrical connector, comprising a stainless steel plate, a Cu coating layer made on the surface of the stainless steel plate, a coating layer from Sn, obtained on a layer of coating from Cu, and a layer of intermetallic compound Cu and Sn, located between a layer of coating from Cu and a layer of coating from Sn, wherein the deposition degree of the coating layer from Cu is in range of 1.5 to 45 g/m2, the deposition degree of the Sn coating layer is in range of 1.5 to 15 g/m2, and the hardness of the stainless steel plate surface is in range from 200 to 400 HV.

EFFECT: initial material suppresses increase in contact resistance.
