FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of engine to control air-fuel ratio imbalance during fuel cutoff in deceleration mode (DFSO). Disclosed is method of detecting imbalance of air-fuel ratio in cylinders of multi-cylinder engine, which includes stages: successively feeding fuel into engine cylinders to create expected deviation of air-fuel ratio and determining imbalance of air-fuel ratio in cylinders based on the error between the actual deviation of the air-fuel ratio from the air-fuel ratio of the maximally lean mixture and the expected deviation of the air-fuel ratio during the fuel cutoff event in the deceleration mode.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of determination of air-fuel ratio imbalance in each engine cylinder with simultaneous minimization of limitations related to sensor sensitivity and mixing of exhaust gases.
