FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for controlling a vehicle engine for monitoring air-fuel ratio imbalance during fuel cutoff in deceleration mode. Disclosed are methods and systems for detecting presence or absence of deviation of engine torque, which may indicate availability of imbalance of air-fuel ratio between engine cylinders. In one of the examples, the method may include detection of presence or absence of deviation of engine torque (608) by deviation of engine torque from required engine torque during fuel cutoff in deceleration mode (502).
EFFECT: technical result is improved detection and correction of imbalance of air-fuel ratio between cylinders.
