FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed are methods and systems for detecting air-fuel ratio imbalances on all cylinders of an engine. In one of the examples, the method (or system) may contain an indication of the cylinder unbalance based on each of the following: air-fuel ratio in exhaust gases, pressure in exhaust header and cylinder torque suspended with confidence coefficient, and confidence coefficient is determined based on operating modes.
EFFECT: disclosed are methods and system for detecting imbalance between engine cylinders.
