FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to treatment of glass articles, specifically to a method of processing hollow glass articles and a laser apparatus for its implementation. According to the method of hollow glass articles processing, the removed part is separated by means of action of laser radiation from the rotating glass article along the specified line of separation. Said method comprises: a first pre-processing step and a second step of separating the removable portion. At the first stage, the laser beam operating in continuous mode is directed to the surface of the rotating glass article to a point on the separation line to set the first continuous zone of laser radiation action along the separation line. At the second stage, the laser beam operating in continuous mode is directed to the surface of the rotating glass article to a point on the line shifted from the separation line away from the removed part in order to set the second continuous zone of laser radiation action along the said shifted line. Said displaced line is located at the periphery boundary of the first continuous exposure area, and the second continuous exposure area has a larger width than the first continuous exposure area.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of the edge of the glass article quality, obtained when separating the removed part, in order to almost completely eliminate or minimize further processing of the edge.
