METHOD OF RADIATION THERAPY OF LOCALLY ADVANCED CERVICAL CANCER Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61N5/10

Abstract RU 2719902 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Method of radiotherapy of locally advanced cervical cancer in a program of a radical course of combined chemoradiation therapy involves a remote conformal radiation therapy on a small pelvis region and regions of regional lymph nodes using 3DCRT/IMRT techniques with subsequent intracavitary brachytherapy (IBT) using an Ir-192 source. IBT is accelerated by fractionation: 4 fractions with prescribed dose 7 Gy on 1, 2 and 8, 9 days of treatment with individual planning of dose distribution on volume of target and risk organs by MRI imaging at stage of applicator introduction into uterus in front of double first two fractions and at stage of applicator introduction into uterus before next double and third fractions.

EFFECT: technical result of the declared invention consists in reducing the number of penetrations into the intestate uterus, which predetermines the tumour traumatisation reduction, as well as reducing the duration of intracavitary brachytherapy.
