FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation therapy, and can be used for radiation therapy of patients with recurrent prostate cancer in regional pelvic lymph nodes after radical prostatectomy. Three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy is performed using a radiation therapy technique with intensity modulation with dynamic arches based on the simultaneous integrated boost principle. It involves radiotherapy on regional lymph nodes: general, external and internal iliac, pre-suction, abnormal, with a single boost dose (SBD) of 1.8–2 Gy, daily 5 times a week, in amount of 25–26 fractions, up to total boost dose (TBD) to 46.8–50 Gy. A radiation exposure is applied to the bed of the distant prostate and/or the detected lymphogenic recurrence of SBD is 2.35–2.4 Gy to TBD 60–61.1 Gy, a local recurrence zone of SBD 2.5 Gy to TBD 62.5–65 Gy. That is combined with a preventive radiation exposure to retroperitoneal lymph nodes of SBD of 1.8–2 Gy and TBD of 46.8–50 Gy.
EFFECT: method enables prolonged biochemical and local control of the disease by enlarging the boundaries of the radiation exposure volumes, which involves exposure not only to a detectable recurrent regional tumour, a bed of a distant prostate and regional pelvic lymph nodes, but also a preventive effect on the retroperitoneal lymph nodes.
