SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to aerosol-generating devices. Article comprises an aerosol-generating substrate and a filter axially aligned with the substrate and comprising at least one filtering segment of a filtering material formed by a plurality of fibers containing a polyhydroxyalkanoate compound. Fibers have weight number of elementary fiber in denier making from 1.5 to 2.7. Total weight number of fibers in denier ranges from 25,000 to 40,000. At least one filter segment contains at least 20 % by weight of a polyhydroxyalkanoate compound.

EFFECT: improved characteristics of biological decomposition, providing acceptable sensation of smoking for the consumer, reduced effect of "dry" smoke, enabling control of resistance to suction and efficient manufacturing.
