FIELD: motion control system; cosmonautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to spacecraft (SC) motion control, particularly when removing large-size fragments of space debris (SDF) from SC working orbits to burial area. Method involves irradiating SDF from the SC board with a beam of accelerated ions in the direction of removal of SDF. Beam is directed to the region of the section between the selected reference points on the SDF image (silhouette) and the beam direction is changed to obtain a constant length of the given segment. Then SC rotation can be synchronized with section rotation in frontal plane, and beam maximum is directed to the middle of the segment. When the distance between the other selected reference points increases, the operations are repeated.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of synchronization of angular motions SC and SDF at contactless removal of the latter from orbit.
