FIELD: spacecrafts.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of the relative motion of active (ASC) and passive (PSC) spacecrafts. The method includes introducing a program with a visual image of the PSC, e.g., an image minimised to an indicator line on the contour of the PSC, into the ASC monitoring and control system. The ASC is brought into orbit of the PSC at the estimated distance between the centres of the masses thereof, the PSC monitoring system is activated, the indications of the size and position of the actual indicator line are compared with the data of the indicator line of the visual image of the PSC, the angular velocity of uniaxial self-rotation of the PSC is determined, and commands are issued for impulse activation of the propulsion system to impact rotation on the ASC, synchronous with the rotation of the PSC.
EFFECT: simplification of the ASC motion control system.
