FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control of the motion of spacecraft. In the method of stabilizing the angular motion of an uncooperative object during contactless transportation, the object is irradiated with a beam of accelerated ions, an image of the object is recorded on a flat screen, and the direction of the ion beam is controlled until a given state of motion of the object is reached. Before the start of irradiation, the most distant from each other reference points on the perimeter of the screen image of the object are chosen, the direction of the ion beam is varied so that on the recorder screen the expected position of the maximum of the flux of accelerated ions in the image of the surface of the irradiated object is moved along the segment connecting the selected reference points. In the case of the emergence of new pairs of reference points on the perimeter of the screen image of the object, the distance between which exceeds the length of the monitored segment, the ion beam control is performed in the previous mode with the replacement of the controlled pair of reference points with the newly installed ones.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to provide stabilization of the angular motion of an uncooperative object during contactless transportation.
