FIELD: technology of inorganic substances.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of inorganic substances and can be used in the production of iron sulfate solutions used as coagulants for the purification of waste and drinking water, as well as the precipitation of solid suspensions from mineral suspensions in the purification of large volumes of highly turbid water. A complex iron-containing coagulant for water treatment is obtained by treating scale with acidic titanium-containing reagents of 20-40% concentration. As an acid reagent, hydrolytic sulfuric acid of the titanium dioxide production process or sulfuric acid solutions for etching titanium products, or sulfuric acid solutions for processing red mud with a mass content of titanium compounds of 0.5-2.5% at a mass ratio of scale to the volume of acid reagent 1: (11 -15) and temperature 100-130°C.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain a complex iron-containing coagulant, including titanium compounds, which has increased industrial safety, providing increased efficiency in comparison with pure reagents.
