SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines equipped with exhaust gas recirculation systems (EGR). Control method is intended for internal combustion engine. Internal combustion engine (1) includes supercharger (14), throttle valves (6), (7), EGR-channel (22) and EGR-valve (24). Supercharger (14) is located on the upstream side of the first throttle valve (6) configured to control the intake air volume. Second throttle valve (7) is located on the upstream side of supercharger (14) and is configured to control the suction pressure on the upstream side of supercharger (14). EGR-channel (22) is made with possibility of recycling part of exhaust gases into section between supercharger (14) and second throttle valve (7). EGR valve (23) is configured to control flow rate of EGR gas flowing in EGR channel (22). Control method consists in setting the target opening degree of the first throttle valve (6) in accordance with the load and detecting the degree of opening of the second throttle valve (7). Whether or not the opening degree of the second throttle valve (7) is determined by the degree of opening on the closing side relative to the predetermined degree of opening of the gate valve. Degree of opening of the first throttle valve (6) is corrected to the degree of opening on the closing side relative to the target opening degree of the shutter, when it is estimated that the degree of opening of the second throttle valve (7) is the degree of opening on the closing side relative to the predetermined degree of opening of the shutter. When opening degree of first throttle valve (6) is corrected to degree of opening on closing side relative to target degree of gate opening, flow area of the first throttle valve (6) is adjusted to a smaller area compared to the area of the through hole of the second throttle valve (7). Disclosed is control device for internal combustion engine.
EFFECT: technical result consists in ensuring the possibility of suppressing development of negative pressure on the side downstream of the second throttle valve due to failure of the second throttle valve.
