SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Internal combustion engine (1) comprises main unit (100) of the internal combustion engine. Supply port (30) provides circulation of the intake air, which is introduced into main unit (100) of the internal combustion engine. Exhaust port (40) provides exhaust circulation, which is discharged by main unit (100) of the internal combustion engine. Airblower (50) is provided in supply port (30) and exhaust port (40). Airblower (50) compresses and delivers the intake air to main unit (100) of the internal combustion engine. Supply circulation port (60) connects the portions on the intake and discharge side of airblower (50) in supply port (30). Exhaust circulation channel (80) connects exhaust port (40) and the portion on the intake side of airblower (50) in supply port (30). Inlet circulation valve (61) is provided in supply circulation port (60). Exhaust circulating valve (82) is provided in exhaust circulation port (80). Control module (90) closes exhaust circulation valve (82) when supply circulation valve (61) is open. Control module (90) further opens exhaust circulation valve (82), when a predetermined volume of the intake air passes fusion portion (37) of supply port (30), in which exhaust circulation port (82) merges with it, after supply circulation valve (61) is closed. Method for controlling an internal combustion engine is disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of an excessive increase in the amount of exhaust gas recirculation.
