FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to conversion equipment, and can be used on electric rolling stock, which is powered by single-phase alternating current network. Increase in power factor and return of electric energy to traction network is achieved by eliminating blocks of ballast resistors from electric locomotive power circuit. Method comprises providing static stability of recuperative braking of an electric locomotive without blocks of ballast resistors in its power circuit by imparting the required inclination to the external characteristic of the inverter, forming condition of electric stability by control of leading edge of power of fully controllable key, in the role of which IGBT-transistor, from 0 to 90 electric degrees, providing, at idle running, always lower voltage of inverter relative to generator voltage by value ΔU, and when current, including up to its nominal value, appears, inverter voltage increases due to reduction of discharge diode arm closure angle with fully controlled electronic switch, which in its operation transfers potential of electromotive force of generator to positive bus of rectifier-inverter converter, when all other arms of rectifier-inverter converter are closed.
EFFECT: increased power factor of electric locomotive and increased return of electric energy to contact network by electric locomotive in mode of recuperative braking.
