METHOD FOR VISCERAL OBESITY DETERMINATION BASED ON MAGNETIC RESONANCE TOMOGRAPHY OF HEART Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/107 A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2721542 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, and can be used to determine visceral obesity according to magnetic resonance tomography of heart. Pericardial adipose tissue is assessed by transverse images of the heart, oriented along the short axis, obtained in performing the non-contrast magnetic resonance tomography. Using the image oriented along the short axis of the left ventricle, the area of pericoronary fat tissue in cm2 is measured at the level of the middle one-third of the anterior descending artery (SFTADA) in the area of the anterior interventricular sulcus confined by an internal epicardial sheet and an epicardial surface of myocardium of the left and right ventricles. In addition, using the heart image in the four-chamber position, the area of the pericoronary fat tissue measured in cm2 at the level of the middle third of the right coronary artery (SFTRCA) in the area of the atrioventricular sulcus, between a right atrium and a right ventricle confined by an internal pericardial sheet and an epicardial surface of a myocardium of the right atrium and a right ventricle. Thus visceral fat obesity in a patient is determined at pericoronary adipose tissue area exceeding thresholds SFTADA ≥ 3.0 cm2, and SFTRCA ≥ 2.25 cm2.

EFFECT: method provides visceral adiposity by estimating the area of pericoronary adipose tissue.
