FIELD: systems for determining location for operation in a room.

SUBSTANCE: first device (110) for measuring distance using wireless communication (130) uses a distance determination protocol to determine distance (140) to second device (120) by measuring round-trip time, wherein the first time data represent the round-trip time, and the second time data represent the response time between receiving the request and sending the corresponding acknowledgment. Second device receives time of circular revolution and determines distance. First device determines the third time data by subtraction of message transmission time between the first device and the second device, calculated based on a certain distance, from the first time data, and determines identifier data indicating hardware and/or software present in the second device. Device then receives from database based on identifier data reference interval value and checks whether a certain distance is certain by comparing the third time data with the reference interval value.

EFFECT: high reliability of measuring distance between devices based on round-trip time.
