FIELD: computer equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a display device which is capable of providing confidential and public modes. Device comprises display panel (24), light-blocking structure for selective light blocking, which is oriented in lateral direction of exit from display panel, and matrix of lenses (27). Display has a privacy mode in which the light-blocking structure blocks the output of the laterally oriented light from the display device and the public mode, in which the light blocking structure allows passage of light which is oriented in the lateral direction of the outlet. Light-blocking structure comprises stack of layers (80), each layer has a pattern of sections of the light-blocking structure of two different types (90, 92), so that in package of layers these sections are combined with formation of light-blocking elements, and each light-blocking element is matched with corresponding lens. Repeating pattern of the light-blocking elements has a pitch equal to twice the pitch of the lenses. Switched polarization plane rotators are switched in privacy mode so that each of the light-blocking elements allows to pass the normal directed light, by blocking the light oriented in the side direction.
EFFECT: this makes it possible to simplify manufacturing of the light-blocking structure.
