FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a decoder and HDR video encoders. Calculating an HDR image based on applying to received image 100 lines of a standard dynamic range of a set of luminance transformation functions, wherein the functions comprise at least a coarse luminance mapping, which is used by the dynamic range optimiser. Darkest value of the intermediate brightness, which is the output of the dynamic range optimizer, is displayed on the received black offset value of the range expander. Video decoder comprises amplification amplifier, configured to use an alternative luminance conversion function to calculate a subset of the darkest luminances of the HDR image from corresponding darkest brightness of standard dynamic range image.
EFFECT: technical result consists in maintaining color chromaticity constant, effectively changing only their luminosity.
