FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used to determine thickness of keratinized soft tissues before surgical treatment of gingival recession with autografting. It involves ultrasonic examination of the keratinized soft tissues in the hard-sky donor area, wherein the intraoperative linear sensor 8–18 MHz wrapped with one layer of the food film is tightly applied to the hard palate parallel to the dental line at 2 mm from the free gingival edge. Areas of 13–17 teeth and 23–27 teeth are sequentially visualized. Soft tissues are displayed on the screen of the ultrasonic apparatus to measure thickness of keratinized soft tissues (L) along the axis of each tooth entering the examination area. Value H1 is calculated by formula: H1 = (L13 + L14 + L15 + L16 + L17)/5, reflecting the average soft tissue thickness within 13-17 teeth. H2 index is calculated by formula: H2 = (L23 + L24 + L25 + L26 + L27)/5 reflecting the average thickness of soft tissues in area of 23–27 teeth. Point of sampling the planned autograft - a tooth area with a maximum thickness of the keratinized soft tissues - is determined from the measurement results.

EFFECT: method provides determining the point of intake and thickness by ultrasonic examination in the hard sky donor area.
