FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to dentistry. X-ray examination of the oral cavity is performed by conic-beam computed tomography. Prior to performing the examination, oral dental pads are placed in an oral vestibule within the upper and lower jaws. On a series of obtained tomograms in the area where cotton rolls were installed, sections of homogeneous air density of black color are determined, having smooth precise borders with adjacent tissues, having soft optical density of gray color. Measurements are carried out on sections in frontal and sagittal planes in areas corresponding to vestibular cortical plates of dental wells, in projection of central axis of tooth, from apex of cortical plate to mucogingival junction. Measurements are recorded in mm.
EFFECT: method enables non-invasive determination of thickness of attached gingiva in mm, gingival biotype determination.
