FIELD: medicine; dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine the biotype of the gums using 3D technologies. An X-ray examination of the oral cavity is carried out by the method of cone-beam computed tomography, after which the upper and lower jaws of the patient are scanned inside the oral scanner. In the diagnostic program Avantis 3D or Exocad, the obtained data are combined and measurements are taken on slices in the frontal and sagittal planes in the areas corresponding to the vestibular cortical plates of the sockets of the examined teeth, in the projection of the central axis of the tooth, from the top of the cortical plate to the mucogingival junction. Measurements are recorded in millimeters.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to non-invasively determine the thickness of the attached gingiva and the gingival biotype.
