FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of radiation sources and relates to a red-emitting thermally stable photoluminescent Ba3Bi2(BO3)4 for LED chips. Photoluminescent Ba3Bi2(BO3)4 is doped with Eu3+ ions and belongs to family M3Ln2(BO3)4, where M=Ba, and the lantanoids (Ln) are substituted with trivalent bismuth. At that, Ba2+ and Bi3+ cations are disordered in three crystallographically nonequivalent positions of Ba3Bi2(BO3)4 crystal structure.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing optimal concentration of dopant ions and eliminating the need to use rare-earth ions in the crystalline structure of the photoluminescent matrix.
