FIELD: transportation; measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pipeline transport, in particular, to long-term operated main gas pipelines (MGP) with cold bending branches (hereinafter referred to as CBB). Method involves determination of the stress-strain state (SSS) of the CBB in the long-term operated MGP in order to prescribe repair of the MGP section. Based on the results of the last intratubal technical diagnostics (ITD) on the MGP section, the curvature radius of the CBB and the angle of rotation of the CBB are determined, on the basis of which the length of the bent part of the CBB is calculated. Based on the analysis of executive-technical documentation for the MGP section, initial geometrical parameters of the CBB are determined: the turning angle and the radius of curvature during the MGP construction. Values of equivalent stresses are determined from initial and current geometrical parameters of CBB, which are compared with allowable ones according to design standards of pipelines and a conclusion is made on degree of hazard of the section with CBB by its loading. If the load factor is K>1.20, the MGP section is taken out of operation and further repair is performed.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of determining the stress-strain state of cold bending branches in long-term operated main gas pipelines.
