SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical and technical information technologies and is intended for use in dental treatment and restoration. If the patient is referred to a dental clinic, 3D scanning of the jaws is performed and virtual 3D models of the jaws are created to diagnose the current dental health. In diagnosing prosthetic repair area is determined and make a prosthetic repair plan. To create a virtual crown from the created patient database, archived virtual three-dimensional basic models of patient's jaws are extracted, made before tooth loss (teeth) and change of functions. Basic model is integrated into the working model; identical areas with preserved teeth are selected and combined by selecting at least three points on these sections. Working model is visualized and analysed. Based on the basic model, creating a three-dimensional virtual copy of the lost tooth(s) or volume of lost dental tissue, including micro- and macroreliefs of the external surface.

EFFECT: method enables creating an exact copy of the lost teeth and reducing the time of specialists' work.
