METHOD FOR EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF PRIMARY HYPOTHYROIDISM Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00 A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2722740 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology and can be used for early diagnosis of subclinical hypothyroidism. Level of hormone formation is examined directly in the thyroid gland by X-ray computer tomography of organ for 7–10 minutes with a radiation dose of 0.4–1 mSv. Thyroid density is evaluated in Hounsfield units (HU). Subclinical hypothyroidism is diagnosed at density less than 85 HU. Accuracy of the diagnosis at density of up to 65 HU units is 100 %; with density of 65 to 70 HU units - 95 %; with density of 70 units to 75 HU units - 90 %; at density from 75 to 85 HU units - 85 %.

EFFECT: method enables high-accuracy determination of subclinical hypothyroidism.
