METHOD FOR ASSESSING THE RISK OF DISTURBED HORMONE-FORMING FUNCTION DIRECTLY IN THE THYROID GLAND Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B8/00 A61B8/13 G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2706500 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology. To assess the risk of disturbing the hormone-forming function directly in the thyroid gland, ultrasonography of the thyroid gland, blood serum level of thyrotropic hormone of the hypophysis and free thyroxine level, structural changes in the thyroid are assessed taking into account the results of thyroid ultrasonography. That is followed by an X-ray computed tomography of the thyroid gland with determination of its density in units of Hounsfield density (HU) and if its density is below 85 units according to Hounsfield (HU), presence or risk of developing thyroid dysfunction caused by iodine deficiency with prescription in treating iodine preparations, and if the thyroid density is more than 140 units according to Hounsfield HU, the presence or risk of developing thyroid dysfunction caused by excess iodine intake, which excludes iodine-containing drugs in treating.

EFFECT: method enables fast and effective detection of hormone-forming function disorders directly in the thyroid gland.
