FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling infection of a plant with species of the genus Leptinotarsa decemlineata. Also disclosed is a transgenic plant having high resistance to infection with Leptinotarsa decemlineata, a cell thereof, as well as an insecticidal composition for controlling Leptinotarsa decemlineata. Invention also relates to a recombinant DNA construct for inducing death or delaying the development of Leptinotarsa decemlineata, as well as a recombinant herbal viral vector containing it.
EFFECT: invention provides effective control of plant infection by species of genus Leptinotarsa decemlineata.
